Helps Maintain Large Intestinal Function

Daily Regulator is a colon tonic. It may be used as part of a program to regulate intestinal and digestive balance, which should include the consumption of at least 5, and as many as 13 servings of fruits and vegetables every day.

It may also be used as a mild laxative for occasional constipation. Daily Regulator is not intended to be used for chronic constipation, which may be the sign of a serious health condition that requires the oversight of a physician.

Many people become constipated because they become temporarily Yin deficient, meaning that they do not have enough fluid in their colon. Therefore water consumption is very important. This formula is a Yin tonic to the colon. Several of the herbs in this formula contain oils that nourish the colon. Rhubarb and Magnolia Bark are very potent antioxidants that can support the normal tissues and functions of the colon; however, they are also laxatives and should be used judiciously and only for a limited time for temporary constipation.

Consuming probiotics, either in foods or as a supplement can often be very helpful for maintaining intestinal functions. Tonic Alchemy contains probiotic organisms and prebiotic foods that nurture these organisms. Miso soup made from real, live miso can be miraculous. Kimchi (Korean pickled vegetables) and naturally fermented yogurt also provide probiotic organisms. Probiotic dietary supplements also can be used, but are not as useful as food sourced probiotics, since they do not tend to survive as well in the intestines.

A healthy diet, exercise and plenty of good quality water are the best ways to establish and maintain healthy bowel function.

Eating less red meat and getting out of the easy chair can help with occasional constipation. Fermented foods are often beneficial and Omega-3 oils are often very helpful as well. Eat lots of green vegetables and the bowels can get what they need to work properly.
