Inside the Superhuman World of the Iceman

What if we told you that you could reach a state of optimal health using nothing but a simple breathing technique and the power of your own mind?

According to twenty-six time Guinness Book of World Record's holder Wim Hof this isn't only possible, but already being done by himself and his students. It's called the WIm Hof Method, a mixture of deep breathing, meditation, and cold water immersion touted to give it's practitioners super human abilities.

Vice did an incredible special on Wim called, Inside the Super Human World of the Iceman. It's one of the best pieces about this man and his practice that we've seen so we thought we would share it with you.

We've been following Wim's work for the last couple of years and experimenting with different breathing techniques, meditation, and cold water immersion. We can definitely attest to the immediate and long lasting benefits you receive from these practices. Watch the video and see if you get inspired, at the very least you'll be entertained by the Iceman's lighthearted approach.

One of the moments that especially resonated with us was when Wim was able to successfully suppress an autoimmune response that should have been triggered by an endotoxin injected into his bloodstream (08:46). This was all done by a doctor, inside of a clinical setting and under strict medical scrutiny. To prove the Iceman wasn't just a total freak of nature they then performed the same procedure on twelve of his students and got the same result. 

No matter where you are on your journey there's always questions of how to improve and grow. The possibility of finding answers through simple breathing exercises (along with a few other lifestyle changes) is extremely intriguing to us and we thought it might be to you too!
